Michelle de Biolley's Autumnal Edit
The season of morning mists and mellow fruitfulness is upon us. So, before the days turn dark and the soil frosted, like your wedding cake, do not fail to appreciate the pleasure of the soft autumnal light. In fact "carry the glow of autumn around with you," says all-around London tastemaker, Michelle de Biolley. This month Michelle, the founder of the lifestyle brand Almost Essential, selects 5 pieces from our current collections which she says will lift your spirits, whether your buying for yourself or a friend in need.
"Green turns to yellow, and yellow into brown as the autumn leaves change. This burnished brown belt is one I'd certainly keep for myself. I love to adapt my look to the seasons and these warm apricot and chestnut tones certainly do it for me, although the burgundy version comes a close second." says Michelle.
Designed as five oval shape shields, hand-worked and decorated with applied wire work and rope twists. Each bezel is set with simulated glass cabochons, the colours ranging from purple, white, opaline, blue and pink set within a curb link frame. The belt features burnished brown silk cords with hand worked cord spacers on each side. Brass with gold overlay.
"At this time of year, I often find reminiscing of holidays abroad, strolling through the passageways between honey toned, Mediterranean villas. This scarab brooch, with its deep yellow gemstone evokes all those memories in the sizzling sun."
Sonia Petroff's penchant for using nature as a motif is especially seen through this statement brooch handcrafted as a Scarab. Simulated yellow topaz cabochon. Brass with silver palladium and gold overlay.
"Our eyes have the power to reveal our feelings, more than words can ever say. So, in my mind, it's rather apt that this bracelet should be designed as a tribute to the eyes. Gifted to the right person, these emeralds will forever be a reminder of the soul who gifted them." says Michelle.
This beautifully handcrafted vintage style luxury bracelet is made in Italy and part of the Eye capsule. A tribute to the symbolism, eyes represent a gateway into the soul. Bezel-set with either a simulated green emerald, red ruby, blue sapphire, or black onyx cabochon within a tapering mount. It is hand etched, has a hinged opening and features dangling gold discs to give it an edgy vibe. It's been twice featured in British Vogue and can be doubled up for a boho layered look.
"A late autumn piece, the redness of cabochons, reminds me of the colour of holly berries and the black onyx, the colour of a fall sky."
This dramatic and vibrant Aries variation in red features our popular buckle duo. Set with double simulated onyx crescents, gold overlay rams heads, featuring large beautifully simulated oval red carnelian cabochons, connected demi-rondelles decorated with beadwork. The luxurious Italian black leather is made brilliantly vibrant with red piping.
"By the time this second lockdown ends, Autumn may be at an end and we'll be well into the gift giving season. Perhaps it's the combination of silver and diamond, but these glitzy Silver Swan Earings seem to mimic the tones of a frosty winter wonderland. I can certainly imagine wearing them on Christmas day."
These earrings have an elegant vintage look with a contemporary edge to become your statement piece. Simulated pearl, fume' and Swarovski diamonds. Brass with silver palladium overlay. Can be sold as a pair or individually. Gold version also available.
