Care Instructions V2

The Beauty of Handmade

Sonia Petroff jewellery and accessories are born from a love of craftsmanship. Each piece is individually handcrafted by skilled Italian artisans using traditional techniques, making every item genuinely unique. As with all authentic handmade pieces, you may notice slight variations in colour, texture, stone placement, or enamel finish between pieces - even within the same design. These natural variations are not flaws but rather the hallmarks of true artisanal craftsmanship that make your piece one-of-a-kind.

We also produce in small batches, so there may be variation between one batch and the next and no two pieces will be identical. Small irregularities in enamel application, minor colour variations in stones, or subtle differences in finishing are inherent characteristics of the artisanal process and contribute to the authentic quality that defines Sonia Petroff pieces.

Should you have any concerns about your piece upon receipt, please contact us at customercare@soniapetroff.com so we can address any issues promptly.

Our Quality Promise

Every Sonia Petroff piece is carefully crafted by Italian artisans and quality-checked before dispatch. If you have any concerns about your purchase, please don't hesitate to reach out - we're here to ensure you're completely satisfied.

Caring for Your Jewellery

Our jewellery is crafted from brass or tin alloy with either a 24k gold or silver palladium overlay. These metals require gentle care to maintain their beauty, as they can be affected by moisture, oils, and chemicals. The lifespan of your Sonia Petroff jewellery will depend on the care you give it. Here are our recommendations to keep your pieces looking their best:

What to Avoid

  • Avoid wearing your jewellery in mineral baths, spas, jacuzzis and swimming pools

  • Remove your jewellery before washing your hands, exercising or prior to bedtime

  • Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures as this can affect both stones and metal

  • Keep away from harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products

Best Practices

  • Before putting on your jewellery, ensure any lotions, perfumes and make-up are fully absorbed into your skin

  • Apply all hair products, especially hair spray, before putting on your jewellery

  • After wearing, gently clean with a soft, dry cloth before storing

  • Store in a dry environment - excessive moisture may cause tarnishing

  • Keep pieces separately in soft-lined boxes or pouches to prevent scratching and tangling

Cleaning

  • Gently clean with a soft, dry cloth only

  • Avoid all soaps, chemical products, and liquid cleaners

  • Never use ultrasonic cleaners or harsh abrasives

Safety Information

Brass, tin, gold and palladium are generally hypoallergenic metals and cause no harm during normal contact with skin. However, if you have known metal sensitivities or concerns about wearing these materials, please consult your doctor for advice.

After-Sales Support

While our jewellery is crafted to last, we understand that with regular wear, pieces may occasionally require attention even after the warranty period. If your Sonia Petroff piece experiences damage or wear beyond the warranty period, please don't hesitate to contact us at customercare@soniapetroff.com. While we cannot guarantee repairs for all situations, we're always happy to assess your piece and explore options to help restore it when possible.
